3 Card Poker Guide
Three Card Poker is a simple, fun and easy game to learn; that’s why it’s loved by many casino players, newbies and experts alike. The truth is that in reality is not an actual Poker game, since you’re playing against the dealer or house instead of against the other players as it is in classic poker. Some compare 3 Card Poker to Blackjack with the difference in what kind of hands you need to get in order to win.
Fast and jolly three card poker can be enjoyed in both land-based and online casinos all over the world, and a lot of people choose this game because the house edge tends to be relatively low at 2-4%.

Three Card Poker, in essence, combines two games in one: Ante/Play where you compare your hand to the dealer’s and Pairplus game, where you get paid if you get a hand which is strong enough no matter what.
Three card Ante/Play poker rules and payout
The game starts with players making an obligatory Ante/Play bet and/or Pairplus bet. The dealer serves 3 cards face down to each player including himself. After examining the cards the player has to either fold, losing the Ante bet, or Play, which in reality means Raise, so an additional bet is required.
After that the dealer reveals his own cards; and for him to be able to qualify he needs to have at least a queen high. If the dealer didn’t manage to qualify the player wins Ante, and the Play bet will push. If the dealer qualifies the hands will be compared, and the higher hand wins both Ante and Play bets. In case there is a tie, both Ante and Play bets will push. If Player’s hand is straight or higher an additional bonus will be paid no matter what hand the dealer has.
3 card Poker Pairplus rules and payout
The Pairplus bet is non-competitive, and the payout is based solely on the poker value of the hand. However remember that the hand strength is different from let’s say Texas Hold’Em and the payout is displayed in the table below.
One fact to remember is that if you fold in Ante/Play, then you will be automatically folding the Pairplus as well, so always consider both options carefully before folding.
