Karamba Review

Here at CasinoHawks, our ‘How We Rate Casinos’ process is built on 6 steps of in-depth testing. This allows us to analyse every inch and pull out the honest facts for you. I’ve included the steps below so that you can see the process in action for my Karamba review:

  1. I reviewed Karamba’s licensing, safety and trustworthiness
  2. I analysed the bonus terms and promos at Karamba
  3. I checked Karamba’s payment methods for smoothness and reliability
  4. I analysed Karamba’s game selection and usability
  5. I tested the Karamba customer support
  6. I judged the popularity of Karamba and researched real UK player testimonials

Karamba Licensing, Safety and Trustworthiness

If you are in the UK, then it’s uber important that you only play at casinos with a UKGC gambling licence. Karamba has a UKGC license with account number 52894, which I verified on the regulator’s registry.

White Hat Gaming Limited is the operator. My further research into the background of the license shows that they received a financial penalty from the UKGC. This was between 2020 and 2021, and due to the operator’s social responsibility and anti-money laundering failings.

⚠️AGE RISK WARNING:
18+ only. The Gambling Act of 2005 is responsible for the law on both online and in-person gambling in the UK. Part of this legislation relates to the protection of minors and vulnerable people. It is illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to gamble in the UK. The UKGC is the regulator, and it requires its licensed casinos to carry out age verification checks on all players. If you are a minor, please do not gamble.

Responsible Gambling at Karamba

Karamba has a welcoming, safer gambling section filled with advice and tips to help you stay in control. I found plenty of tools for UK players, and these include time-outs, reality checks and self-exclusion. You can easily view your transactions within your profile and set a deposit limit, too. Karamba also supports GamStop, the national self-exclusion system for UK players. Whilst this is all good stuff, I would like to see more limits, such as wager, loss and session.

⚠️ ADDICTION RISK WARNING ⚠️
Gambling can be enjoyable but it’s essential to remember that it can also lead to harm. It’s important to recognise how gambling makes you feel and know when to stop. Some warning signs might include chasing your losses, keeping your gambling secret from loved ones, or feeling upset when you cannot gamble. Always be honest with your feelings and if you are struggling, then please reach out for support. Many organisations in the UK offer free guidance and will listen to you without judgement. These can be GamblersAnonymous or GamCare 0808 8020 133.

My Rating of Karamba’s Trust & Safety

I’ve already laid out some facts for you on these crucial topics in my Karamba review. But here’s where I put things under the microscope!

What I checkedScoreWhy this score?
Licences4/5Whilst there is a valid UKGC license, I have deducted 1 point due to the financial penalties imposed by the UKGC.
Brand Credibility & Ownership Trust5/5With 20+ years in operation, Karamba are well established, and White Hat are also responsible for many other casinos in the UK.
Security Measures & Data Protection3/5Karamba states that data is encrypted with a minimum of TLS v1.2. SSL is mentioned, but the current level isn’t determined. 2FA is not supported either. I found that eCOGRA acts as the ADR, and there is a clear GDPR policy.
Responsible Gambling Tools8/10I’ve deducted 2 points as more account limits are required to enhance player protection.
Karamba needs to show better transparency on its security protocols and increase its RG limit selection!
The score is 20/25.

Karamba’s Bonus Terms and Promos

(18+ only, offers are for new UK players only. Full terms and conditions apply to all bonuses and promos, please review these on the Karamba site before claiming)

Okey doke, here come the casino bonuses! I’ve detailed these below for you but I’ve also trawled through the smallprint to check for fairness and value.

⚠️BONUS RISK WARNING
The exclusive welcome offer can be claimed with a first deposit from £10 and your account must already be fully verified.

The bonus requires you to wager your deposit and bonus a total of 35 times within 30 days, before a withdrawal is allowed. This means if you deposit £250 and claim the £250 bonus (total £500) you will need to wager £17,500. Please be aware that most players do not clear such high wagering requirements and will often lose money due to game RTPs and the house edge. Always gamble responsibly. Please note that different games contribute at different rates to your wagering, please check these on the Karamba site. Only bonus funds count towards the wagering requirements.

The free spins are valid for 24 hours. Winnings from these are capped at a maximum of £100 and paid in bonus funds, which require wagering 35x.

The maximum you are permitted to bet with whilst using bonus funds is £5.

Full terms and conditions apply to this offer. Please review these on the Karamba site before claiming.

Karamba UK loyalty points

If you plan on playing regularly here then you could soon stack up some LP! Every £10 that you wager in slots will get you 2LP, with other game types rewarding at different rates. When you hit the 1,000 target, you’ll then get a tasty £5 bonus.

Karamba Promotions and Tournaments

Karamba UK offers

The parrot keeps on givin’, and my Karamba review revealed two weekly reload deals. If you deposit £20 or more every Tuesday and Thursday during eligible times, you’ll get a 25% bonus worth up to £25. Unfortunately, I didn’t spot any tournaments.

My Rating of Karamba’s Bonus Terms & Promotions

All too often bonuses look schamazing from the outside, but in reality, sometimes aren’t worth it. Shall we see how Karambas deals fare?

What I checkedScoreWhy this score?
Bonus Terms and Conditions3/5I found the terms to be clear and easy to read. Generally, things are fair though I don’t approve of the £100 max win restriction on free spins.

The bonus max bet amount is £5, which is in line with the industry average, at least.
Wagering Requirements2/5The wagering requirements are high at 35x your combined deposit and bonus amount. Free spin winnings are also subject to 35x wagering.
Ongoing Promotions3/5I think the collection is a good size and I like the wager-free weekly and weekend cashback deals. The reloads are a nice touch, but are subject to 35x wagering. The LP program sounds great but in reality you will need to wager a lot of cash to reap the rewards from it.

I’ve also removed 1 point as there were no tournaments at the time of my Karamba review.
Choose your bonuses wisely and be mindful of those wagering requirements!
The score is 8/15.

Payment Methods & Account Fairness at Karamba

There’s a basic selection of banking options for UK players, with just a small choice of eWallets.

Payment MethodMinimum DepositMaximum Withdrawal Average Deposit TimeAverage Withdrawal Pending Time
Visa & MasterCard debit£10No limitInstantUp to 24hrs
PaySafeCard£10N/AInstantN/A
Skrill & Neteller£10No limitInstantUp to 24hrs
Bank transfer£10No limitFew minutes Up to 24hrs
⚠️FINANCIAL RISK WARNING
Casinos have an advantage over players due to their house edge, which results in most players losing money over time. Before you start to play, we recommend that you set limits to protect your finances. It’s also beneficial to regularly review your account transactions. Gambling should only be carried out for entertainment and isn’t a way to make money. Please gamble responsibly and only with the money you can afford to lose.

How To Withdraw From Karamba

  1. Log in to your profile
  2. Click on ‘Withdrawal’
  3. Input the amount
  4. Verify the details and then click ‘Confirm’

Other Important Information for Your Withdrawals

Karamba does not charge for withdrawals and the minimum you can cash out is £20.

Documents and Information You’ll Need To Share With Karamba

You will be asked to take snapshots of your documents for verification, when you make your first withdrawal. These can be:

  1. Photo ID: Driving license, passport or national ID card
  2. Proof of address: Bank statement or utility bill

My Rating of Karamba’s Payment & Account Fairness

So, how did my payment testing go and will you get a fair deal here?

What I checkedScoreWhy this score?
Minimum Withdrawal and Deposit3/5£20 for a withdrawal and £10 might be standard amounts, but they could be lower.
Accepted Payment Methods2/5At the time of my review, Karamba didn’t offer PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Account Rules and Player Rights1/5My Karamba review highlighted a couple of unfair clauses. There’s a maximum win restriction resulting from one spin, which is £250K. Progressive jackpot wins are exempt from this rule at least.

If your account is inactive for 12 months, then Karamba will try to contact you and return any remaining balance to your last used payment method. If these actions don’t work, then Karamba will deduct a £5 monthly fee from your balance.
Withdrawal Speed and Processing Times4/5Up to 24 hours is not too long to wait.
Karamba’s unfair account rules and lack of payment methods get the thumbs down from me!
The score is 10/20.

Karamba’s Game Library & Usability

Karamba has pushed the boat out with a tremendous portfolio of 3,500+ casino games

⚠️CASINO GAMES WARNING
Whenever you play a casino game, there is a chance that you will lose money. Please only gamble for entertainment purposes and never as a way to make money. We strongly advise you to use casinos licensed by the UKGC, as the games available will also be licensed and tested for fairness.

Casino games feature different rules and RTP rates. They can also contribute at varying rates to your wagering requirements. Before you start to play, it’s a good idea to check all of these details. Please gamble responsibly.

Exclusive Games

Sorry Hawksters, there weren’t any of these at the time of my review.

2,800+ Slots at Karamba

Karamba UK slots lobby

Opening up the slots lobby revealed a tasty assortment of titles. I got to pick from varying themes from haunted houses, ancient Rome and deep sea adventures! The RTP ranges are decent and there’s a good mix of volatiles.

Karamba’s Live Dealer Selection

Karamba UK live casino lobby

The live casino is on the wee side, with the majority of focus on Blackjack and Roulette. Though there are a few poker variants, Craps and Baccarat. I had a few bets on the likes of Lucky 6 Roulette and Bac Bo Live.

Karamba Game shows

I found a wholesome selection of game shows which are headed up by Evolution and Pragmatic Play. So you know you’ll be in for a good time! I’d recommend giving Balloon Race, Crazy Pachinko and Money Time a try out.

Other Types of Games You Can Play at Karamba

  • Video poker
  • Crash
  • Slingo
  • Plinko
  • Jackpots (and yes, the Mega Moolah games are available!)
  • RNG tables
  • Scratchcards

Popular Game Providers at Karamba

I found a healthy ratio, with 90+ developers to 3,500+ games. This ensures a continuation of new stuff to enjoy. The most well-known providers are:

My Karamba Mobile Experience

Karamba doesn’t have a dedicated mobile app but I didn’t find this an issue. Logging into the mobile casino browser version, I got to enjoy game stability, a polished interface and well-organised layout.

My Rating of Karamba’s Games Library & Usability

Karamba claims to be the ‘ultimate gaming destination’ – but how true is that? I’ve also analysed the user-friendliness of the site and the mobile potential.

What I checkedScoreWhy this score?
Games Library and Navigation8/10There’s a wide variety of titles and genres with lots of new releases. I removed points though due to the lack of organisation. I feel that more specific filters such as RTP, bet range and bonus features would be beneficial.
Software Providers and Game Integrity4/5There’s a varied collection of developers. Karamba doesn’t state that it uses a third-party games testing agency though.
UX/UI Experience
Site Navigation & Design2/2.5The theme is eye-catching but not too in your face, and the layout is clutter-free. I did find that the colourful background and white font made some of the terms difficult to read.
Mobile Experience2/2.5There isn’t an app but the mobile casino site mirrors the desktop, which includes the glaring font issue.
Karamba has a strong focus on gaming but a few tweaks are required!
The score is 16/20.

My Rating of Karamba’s Customer Support

How did the Karamba agents stand up to my testing and will it be a pain to get your new account open? Let’s check it out!

What I checkedScoreWhy this score?
Opening an Account1/2This can be done in 2 quick steps with your basic info, which is electronically checked. Full KYC verification can take between 24-48 hours, so I have deducted 1 point.
Availability & Response Time1/2It took almost 24 hours to get a response to my emails, though my chats were picked up within a few minutes.
Contact Options2/2Live chat and email support is available 24/7. The quality of response I received was good and the agents were professional.
Clear Contact Options2/2You can use the floating widget or simply click the ‘Help’ link from the footer of any page.
Help Centre & Self-Service Options1/2I’ve removed 1 point as some basic bits of info were missing.
Karamba delivers on its live chat but those email response times need to be swifter!
The score is: 7/10.

Popularity & User Testimonials

Karamba is fairly popular in the UK though comments from players are mostly negative. The most common complaint relates to slow withdrawals far exceeding the 24 hours stated by Karamba. I did find a few positive testimonials, with players remarking on the good selection of slots and fast verification processes.

I expected more from Karamba
The site has been operating since 2005 and has changed operators during this time, so I had higher hopes for it. But I can’t ignore the majority of complaints relating to the same issue, so it’s a 1/10 score.

Does Karamba Deliver?

My Karamba review gave me mixed feelings. On one hand, the gaming portfolio is fantastic for slots, but not so for live casino. Some of the promos are fair, but then the wagering requirements for others are too high. The quality of live chat support I received was perfect, but my emails took ages to be answered. Do you see where I’m going?

I’ve kept an eye on Karamba over the years and it was lacking in key areas whilst under management from Aspire. Things have improved a little since it moved to White Hat, but there’s still work to be done.
