X-Men

X-Men review

Marvel Progressive Jackpot slot series from Playtech is not available anymore. Instead, you can play the new series of progressive slot games called Age of the Gods from the same game provider. We highly recommend trying Age of the Gods: Prince of Olympus and Age of the Gods: Goddess of Wisdom slots from this jackpot series.

If you prefer to have a few superheroes in a slot game instead of one, then you’re in the right place. The X-Men slot from the Marvel Playtech series will give you a whole array of heroes and villains to enjoy. The other 2 Marvel slots of this calibre are The Avengers and Fantastic Four, as they also have a few superheroes to choose from. Being an official Marvel licensed production and a part of the Playtech Marvel Mystery Jackpot Network this slot hides a lot of goodies, so let’s have a closer look at them.

X-Men slot features

Join Professor Xavier leading the team of young mutants who fight the evil to save humanity in this 5 reels and 25 paylines slot. The game symbols are all represented by various superheroes, mutants and villains, so you can expect to see Professor Xavier himself, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Storm and Cyclops as well as the super villains of the Brotherhood of Mutants with their leader Magneto and the villain team including Rogue, Mystique, Sabretooth and Juggernaut.

The wild symbol in this game is a ‘Wild’ logo that substitutes all the other symbols apart from the scatter. 2 or more wilds on the same payline give you a separate range of payouts.

X-Men logo is the scatter symbol, which is responsible for triggering the Scatter Bonus if you’re lucky to land at least 2 X-Men scatter logos on the payline. In this case, you are going to win the scatter win amount multiplied by your total bet.

X-Men slot free spins

Free spins in the X-Men slot come in the form of the Heroes & Villains best free spins offers bonus game. It is an interesting feature that can look a little bit confusing in the beginning. There are 2 different free spins modes – unlimited Heroes mode free spins and 8 Free Spins in the Villains mode. To start out you are going to play the Heroes free game and receive your unlimited free spins until Magneto shows up on the 3rd reel. If that happens, the game switches to the Villains mode, where your 8 villain free spins countdown starts. During the course of the Villain Free Spins, you have a chance to be saved by Professor X, appearing on the third reel and taking you back to the Heroes mode. And so on and so forth… The feature can go on for quite a long time but eventually, the Villain free spins will run out, and you’ll go back to the base game mode. Hopefully, by then, you’ll win a lot of cash.

The X-Feature

This is one very simple but lucrative feature that will pay out 5 times your total bet if the superheroes form an X shape on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th reels with no villains within the X. We like this bonus option because it occurs quite regularly.

Bet more to increase your chances to win the highest of the 4 Marvel Mystery Jackpots – the Super Power, Absolute Power, Extra Power and Power. The highest jackpot prize it his game is 10,000 coins and the second largest prize is 5,000 coins.

X-Men slot graphics and sounds

The game is visually superb even though the characters are drawings and not the images from the Marvel movie starring Hugh Jackman. But there are a lot of visual effects to enjoy starting from the engaging intro video and energetic rock music and the classic sounds of spinning reels. The visual effects for each of the characters are quite impressive as well. One of the most fascinating ones is Mystique, as she changes the shape and morphs into something different. Storm sends lightning on the reels, while the Cyclops releases rays of scary red light from his eyes.

X-Men slot – our conclusion

If you’re into the Playtech Marvel series, this is one of the top games to try mainly because of the awesome Heroes and Villains free games mode, that will keep going on and on, giving you a really decent chance for major winnings. Very entertaining and graphically superb, the game has a lot of variety both in terms of the characters, visual effects, bonus features and winning possibilities. But as it always is with the Marvel Mystery Progressive Jackpot slots, don’t forget that the more you bet, the more you can win.
