The 2023 CasinoBeats Summit concluded with the CasinoBeats Game Developer Awards, a celebration of both the success and innovation of casino game development.
Described as “the Oscars for slots and game development,” the event took place on the 25th of May at the InterContinental Malta Hotel. Among the various prize categories there, of course, is one for Slot of the Year, which was won by Relax Gaming and its latest entry in the hit Money Train series, Money Train 3.
Another category of note is the Slot Legacy Title, which was awarded to a true classic – NetEnt’s Gonzo’s Quest. BGaming got the 2023 Slot to Watch prize for Potion Spells, while Barbara Bang’s Mustang Freedom won the Slot Debut 2023 award.
Prizes for Innovation, Marketing and More
The CasinoBeats Game Developer Awards count over 20 categories covering just about everything involved in the creation of slots. For instance, AvatarUX got a prize for Game Mechanic of the Year with its clever PopWins feature, while Wazdan‘s Mystery Drop got named Game Feature of the Year.
Visuals and music are also crucial for a memorable slot, so they get award categories of their own. This year’s ceremony had ELK Studios receive the Game Design and Art Direction prize for the post-apocalyptic fun of Nitropolis 4. The winner in the Game Music/Soundtrack category, on the other hand, is BGaming and its recently released slot Elvis Frog TRUEWAYS.
The CasinoBeats Summit will take place next year, together with the Game Developer Awards, from the 21 to the 24 of May 2024 at the InterContinental Hotel, Malta.
