Hotline review
This coming March, NetEnt is going to release a highly entertaining slot which, from what we’ve seen so far, is bound to be a hit!
Keep reading our full review of Hotline slot below to find out what you can expect before Hotline’s official release on the 22nd of March 2018. We’ll also introduce you to some safe online casinos in the UK where you can try out the game.
Hotline slot features
As you start playing Hotline slot, you’ll notice that it’s been developed to look much like a videogame, featuring an intro as well as clips throughout the game, as well as graphics that are very much reminiscent of the Miami Vice series.
Hotline slot is a 5×3 slot with 30 paylines, featuring 3 low-value jewellery symbols and 3 high-paying villain symbols, with the female being the highest-paying one.
The slot also features wild symbols, which may land anywhere on the reels to substitute for all symbols except the scatters. But to understand how these wilds work in Hotline slot, we first have to explain what will be so special about the game’s activated hotlines!
Hotline slot Bonus Bet feature
Every row in this slot is considered to be a Hotline, which players may choose to activate or deactivate at will. One hotline (row) is always activated, and players can play the game with a base bet (equivalent to 15 coins for each bet level).
Once two hotlines are activated, the game will be played in Double bet (30 coins per bet level), whereas with three hotlines activated, you’ll play the game with a Triple Bet (45 coins per bet level).
If you get a Wild symbol on an activated Hotline, this expands to cover the whole reel and awards a re-spin, and of course the more hotlines are activated, the more chance you’ve got for these Expanding Wilds and re-spins!
During the re-spins, the Expanding Wild will remain fixed on the reels, and the re-spins end if no new Wild symbol lands on one of the activated hotlines. No free spins can be activated during the re-spins.
Hotline slot free spins feature
If you get 3 scatters anywhere on the first, third and fifth reels in Hotline slot, this will trigger 7 free spins.
During this free spins round, landing on a wild symbol on an active hotline also causes it to expand to cover the entire reel and it remains in place until the end of the round, which increases the potential of bigger wins significantly.
More free spins can be won by landing on scatters during the free spins round.
Hotline slot bonus
Given its innovative bonus bet feature, Hotline slot is likely to be one of the most popular games this year, and a lot of slot sites shall probably be having special promotions or offers for you to try it out.
For this reason, it’s best to play it as soon as it is released, for this can mean that you’ll get an extra handful of the best free spins as part of a special offer.
Look out for Hotline slot at the casinos we recommend below and check out their promotions page as well as our casino offers section regularly so as not to miss out on any offers.
You could also play the game at a new casino in the UK, if fresh and modern features and competitive bonuses are your thing!
Hotline slot min/max bets, RTP, volatility and maximum win
According to our sources, players may bet from 15p to £450 on Hotline slot. The game’s RTP varies depending on the hotlines activated as follows:
- 1 Hotline – 96.13%
- 2 Hotlines – 96.70%
- 3 Hotlines – 97.04%
Reportedly, Hotline is a low volatility game and the maximum win for a single spin is 400x the stake or 60000 coins if you land on a full screen of Expanding Wilds.
Hotline slot graphics and sound
When it comes to the overall slot design and graphics, NetEnt has yet again done a good job.
The reels are frameless and the animations very detailed and of high quality, rather retro and reminiscent of the 80s.
The soundtrack is equally retro and fast-paced, with the sound of police sirens and shrieking car brakes in the background, giving you the impression that things will happen rapidly and can get risky in this game!
Hotline slot – our Conclusion
Although we haven’t played Hotline slot ourselves yet, from what we’ve learned, this will be a great slot to try out given its unique active hotline feature, and of course its flawless design.
Unfortunately, the maximum win is rather low compared to other slots out there, although the hit frequency might make up for it – we just have to wait and see!
Try it out as soon as it’s released at the end of March, and in the meantime, have a look at our article on the best new online slots to try out other recent releases which we believe are worth playing this year!
