Wild Tome of the Woods slot review
Enchanting, magical and visually striking, Quickspin’s Wild Tome of the Woods slot will definitely appeal to those players who are willing to suspend their imagination and delve into a fairytale setting. But apart from its obvious charm, is this game worth playing for real money? You’ll find out after our reading our Wild Tome of the Woods slot review below!
Wild Tome of the Woods slot features
Wild Tome of the Woods is a 6-reel slot with 4 rows and 26 paylines, set in an enchanted woodland which is actually meant to be Whittlewood Forest, a medieval hunting ground in Northamptonshire. The game is inspired by a combination of folktales, and is based on the story of the wizard Tom, who is obsessed with turning things into gold, and his three friends: Crickey (a quirky half frog/half newt), Sylvester the fox and a posh owl called Eleanor. The story goes that Tom has indeed managed to turn stuff into gold, but this has caused trouble for him and his friends, as their home is being targeted by greedy gold seekers!
The fox, the half frog/newt and the owl function as the high-value symbols on the reels, along with 3 potion bottles, which are the low-paying symbols. There’s also a wild symbol which replaces all symbols on the reels. Last but not least, you’ve got the red book symbol (the wild tome). When one or more lands on the reels, the Wild Tome feature will come into play, and one of the other symbols will be randomly chosen and transformed into a wild, along with the red book itself.
When this happens, there’s a chance that one of the wilds will transform into another Wild Tome, which shall trigger a chain reaction until all reels get filled up with wilds! If you manage to arrive up to this point, the All Wilds Win feature will be triggered to reward you with a prize of 1,000 the stake.

Wild Tome of the Woods comes with an average RTP of 96.28% and can be played by staking from 25p to £100 on each spin. Unfortunately, the maximum payout is rather low considering the high variance; this may amount to just 1,000x the stake if you’re lucky enough to trigger the All Wilds Win feature.
Wild Tome of the Woods slot graphics and sound
Quickspin have certainly worked hard to make Wild Tome of the Woods striking and incredibly appealing; the design of this game is flawless, conveying the enchanted feel that goes with the theme. The reels are set against this thick woodland, and the animations have been uniquely designed to bring out their individual characters. The soundtrack is soothing and reminiscent of classic fairytales; it's punctured by powerful sound effects that serve to liven up the game whenever you land on a win or trigger a feature.
Wild Tome of the Woods slot review – our Conclusion
Wild Tome of the Woods is an impressive-looking slot with a not-so-impressive hit frequency. The chain reaction of Wilds is not so easy to trigger, although the rate at which the red book lands is decent enough and this is likely to lead to a decent win. All in all, it’s a simple slot with exceptional graphics, but it’s not the best that Quickspin can offer. For higher payouts and a more exciting gameplay, we suggest going for Dragon Chase slot or Divine Dreams, although you shouldn’t exclude Wild Tome of the Woods if you’d rather keep things simple and straightforward.
