BetMGM Partners with Newcastle United FC

LeoVegas announces the first partnership for its recently launched BetMGM brand is with no other than Newcastle United FC. 

This means BetMGM will be Newcastle’s official club partner for the 2023/4 season, with its brand visible across St. James’ Park. The partnership actually makes sense, since BetMGM’s UK office is also located in Newcastle

All Geared up for BetMGM’s UK Launch 

The partnership with Newcastle is the latest in BetMGM’s commercial agreements following its UK launch. Just a week ago, MGM Resorts International – owner of 50% of the BetMGM business – got Chris Rock to support the UK launch in a series of marketing campaigns. 

“We are proud that the club has selected BetMGM as one of its betting partners for the upcoming season,” LeoVegas director of UK/IRE & global sponsorships Sam Behar says.  “With our launch in the UK, it is fantastic to have Newcastle United as part of our stable of Premier League partner clubs. The team’s ambition and drive perfectly align with our growth strategy and we can’t wait to get started.”

No Gambling Logos on Shirts?

The sponsorship of football clubs by gambling operators is currently something of a hot potato in the UK. Last April saw the Premier League withdraw gambling sponsorships from the front of clubs’ matchday shirts starting from the end of the 2025/6 season, a measure it said was taken to reduce gambling advertising. 

However, this rule does not ban gambling operators from other partnerships, such as the one formed by Newcastle and BetMGM.
