Dancing on Ice judges
So who are the judges of this competition? The Dancing on Ice judges are the same as last year, namely Christopher Dean, Jayne Torvill, Jason Gardiner and Ashley Banjo. Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill (aged 60 and 61) are both retired Olympic skaters, and are alternating as head judges. One of them will have the casting vote on who will leave whenever the panel cannot reach a majority decision. The two used to skate together and retired back in 1998, and are the highest-scoring figure skaters of all time!
47-year old Jason Gardiner is an Australian singer, choreographer and theatre produce who has choreographed for famous stars, among them Kylie Minogue and Cher.
Ashley Banjo is a dancer, choreographer, actor and presenter who led the dance group, Diversity in Britain's Got Talent 2009 edition. He joined the Dancing on Ice Judges Panel only last year.
Favourite to win Dancing on Ice 2019
It seems like Love Island’s Wes Nelson impressed the dancing on Ice judges in the auditions, and he’s currently the favourite to win Dancing on Ice 2019! Former Strictly Come Dancing Star James Jordan is the second favourite, which comes as no surprise given the fact that he’s a professional dancer – but apparently, he wasn’t too impressive when he got onto the ice rink! Bookies are less sure about the third and fourth favourites, as both Melody Thornton and Richard Blackwood are ranking in these positions at different sites. Given the celebrities that have embraced the challenge, the only thing we’re sure of is that it will be one exciting season!
Dancing on Ice 2019 eliminations
Mark Little was the first celebrity to leave Dancing on Ice 2019 this year, followed by Richard Blackwood. The third was Didi Conn, and surprisingly Gemma Collins is still in despite her tumble in one of the shows, which annoyed quite a lot of spectators apparently! That said, odds on Gemma to win are still high, meaning that it's not likely, whereas the odds have gone up for Saara Alto and Melody Thornton, especially after the latter got the highest score in the series so far.

7/2/2019 Gemma Collins causes 'disruption' during last Sunday's rehearsals
Gemma Collins has already caused quite a lot of drama and speculation lately, and seems determined to proceed along the same lines as she has just been kicked off the ice rink for causing disruption last Sunday. After she had been sent to a spa to help her rejuvenate (following a couple of incidents and challenges due to her weight), Gemma has now threatened to quit if Brian Mc Fadden leaves the show, revealing that he keeps her going in the competition. It has annoyed some people that Gemma is still going despite her tumble
17/1/2019 Gemma Collins steals last Saturday's show!
Six celebrities performed for the first time in Dancing on Ice 2019 last Saturday, but everyone seems to agree that Gemma Collins stole the show when she performed the splits AND a hair flick, which almost caused her to lose her balance! What everyone doesn't agree on is whether this performance is worthy of praise or not! Judge Jason Gardiner wasn't too impressed, and dubbed the performance 'uncomfortable to watch', likening it to a French & Saunders parody!
However, Gemma is no longer ranking at the very bottom when it comes to Dancing on Ice Outright odds, as sites are now offering less favourable odds on Gemma - which simply mean that she's deemed more likely to do well than people initially believed!
Contestants struggle as rehearsals kick off!
The Dancing on Ice rehearsals have now started, and a few starts have been seen struggling as well as tumbling! Gemma Collins apparently had a nasty fall despite her concentration and confidence, and was seen on the ground clutching onto her injured knee. There's also been a small accident for Finnish Eurovision star Saara Alto's partner Hamish, when she hit his upper lip with her elbow. Cricketer Ryan Sidebottom also lost his balance and had a good tumble after attempting a fancy move, while Brian Mc Fadden didn't seem to be in his element either! On the other hand, Wes Nelson seemed to be quite at ease, and has retained his position as favourite to win Dancing on Ice 2019 at online betting sites.
These rehearsals have already led to changes in the Dancing on Ice Betting odds, resulting in less favourable odds for Wes Nelson, while James Jordan has so far retained his position as second favourite, followed closely by Richard Blackwood. Expect odds to keep changing especially following this Saturday's show!
